Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lexibop ("Service"), operated by Jason Noxon ("we", "us", or "our"). By using Lexibop, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What Lexibop does

Lexibop is a tool that adapts French text to a target CEFR proficiency level and provides word definitions. It is intended for language learning and educational purposes.

2. Your account

You need an email address to use Lexibop. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must notify us at hello@lexibop.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Lexibop.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Lexibop to:

• Process text that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Use automated means to make requests beyond normal human usage patterns
• Circumvent usage limits or create multiple accounts to obtain additional free quota
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission

4. Content you submit

You retain all rights to text you paste into Lexibop. By submitting text, you grant us a limited, transient license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not store, claim ownership of, or use your text for any other purpose.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any text you paste. We are not responsible for copyright infringement arising from text you submit.

5. Usage limits

Free accounts are subject to monthly usage limits as described on our website. We reserve the right to adjust these limits at any time with reasonable notice. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the Service.

6. Accuracy of rewrites

Lexibop uses AI to adapt French text. Rewrites are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. We make no guarantee that rewritten text perfectly preserves the meaning of the original or that it is linguistically correct. Do not rely on Lexibop rewrites for high-stakes purposes such as legal, medical, or official translations.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep Lexibop available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by email where possible.

8. Paid plans

We may offer paid plans in the future. Terms specific to paid plans will be provided at the time of purchase. Free plan features may change as the Service evolves.

9. Intellectual property

The Lexibop name, logo, and Service (excluding user-submitted content) are our intellectual property. You may not use our branding without written permission.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Lexibop is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Use the Service at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Lexibop. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $10 if you have not paid us anything).

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
